Gabriel Fauré 1845 - 1924 wrote the earliest part of this in 1877, completing his 1st version in 1888, moved by the deaths of his parents.
Fauré made many revisions of his Requiem before his final version was published in 1901, many think that his Requiem is the most peaceful.
